Ophidian as Raziel |
Conrad Hoyer
The first Ophidian track was ‘Dark Comes Rising’ and was released on Supreme Intelligence in 1998, but the real Ophidian-style could first be heard in ‘00/’01, in which period he released the e.p.’s ‘Absolute Evil / Black’ on Supreme Intellegence and ‘Rhythmic Philosphy’ on Enzyme Records. By now Ophidian has released many tracks on Enzyme and it’s sublabels (mainly Enzyme X), the most well-known being the ‘Blackbox’ album which was released as cd and 5x 7” vinyl set and the vip edit of ‘Butterfly’. Ophidian’s style can best be described as very experimental hardcore music with many techno and electronic influences. Although his music is not always understood by the mainstream hardcore fan, there is a growing group of people that prefer this style and are always awaiting the next Ophidian release.
